Location
Brookland Banquet & Conference
1066 Sunset Boulevard West Columbia, SC 29169
Join us for the formal unveiling and launch of the new South Carolina Preservation Toolkit in a special event at 6 p.m. on Friday, February 7 at the Brookland Banquet and Conference Center in West Columbia.
With a keynote address from Malika N. Pryor, Chief Learning and Engagement Officer of the International African American Museum in Charleston, the event will demonstrate the value of preserving our past and how people can use the toolkit to reach their goals. The Toolkit is an online resource that provides information on grants/funding, databases of experts and successful projects, how-to guides and other tools to help navigate the preservation process. Whether it’s acquiring an official state historical marker, a listing on the National Register, or preserving an historic structure or cemetery, projects are easier with the Toolkit.
Tickets are $75 / person and can be purchased at this link.
Sponsorships (including tables of 8 for $1000) are still available. View the sponsorship brochure here and contact us about sponsorships at info@wegoja.org.
Tickets must be purchased in advance by Friday, January 24, 2025.

Due to popular demand, we’re hosting two more community training sessions in the new year!
Join us for a virtual community training session, where we’ll show you how to use the SC Preservation Toolkit. We’ll walk through all the tools and resources we’ve built (with your input!). This will also be a space for anyone with current preservation projects to share their projects and challenges, and for us to brainstorm solutions together.
Register for the Feb. 18 training session to receive the zoom link.
After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.
If you have issues registering, contact timika@wegoja.org for a direct link.
