Short Bio: Dr. Althea Sumpter, researcher and scholar, focuses on ethnographic documentation and cultural preservation of the Southern story. With her native Gullah Geechee culture as a prototype collecting the oral histories of elders, she uses her expertise to teach how to preserve the stories of a family and a community.
