Akua Page, owner of Futnuss: Gullah Geechee Juice Bar & Classroom, is an author (Gullah Geechee Adventures: Hoodoo Magick) educator, and content creator for Da Geechee Influence which promotes Gullah Geechee language and heritage online. Akua has worked with PBS, Hulu, local and national organizations.

Dr. Althea Sumpter, researcher and scholar, focuses on ethnographic documentation and cultural preservation of the Southern story. With her native Gullah Geechee culture as a prototype collecting the oral histories of elders, she uses her expertise to teach how to preserve the stories of a family and a community.

Alyssa Magnone

From my office in Aiken, SC, I provide preservation consultations, training programs, assessments, and disaster advice to a variety of cultural heritage organizations nationwide. I have nearly a decade of experience working with art, archaeological, history, and natural history collections and have completed additional training in archives.

Angel Parson

Gifted with an ability to connect people and ideas with opportunities and outcomes, Angel Parson works to create innovative and effective strategies that promote cooperative collaboration and sustainable solutions in marginalized communities. Angel serves as the Program Director for the four state Gullah Geechee Cultural Heritage Corridor National Heritage Area.

Arianna Parker

I'm Arianna Parker, a graduate student at the College of Charleston pursuing a master's in public administration and a certificate in arts and cultural management. As the technical assistance coordinator for the Gullah Geechee Heritage Preservation project, I focus on documenting African American settlement communities in Charleston and Mount Pleasant.

Ayanna Goines

I'm the African American History Consultant at the Archives and provide technical assistance to groups and individuals regarding African American history. I provide tools and resources for groups to be successful. I am also the liaison for the SC African American Heritage Commission.

As a higher education professional & history educator. I strive to preserve and educate about U.S. History, in particular the African American experience in the United States.
